This Siirt blanket reflects the steps of paradise and was hand-woven in Eastern Turkey. It is about 20 years old and shows little signs of usage. Two small orange stains (see the last photo) are barely visible from a certain distance. The long white hair seems to flow into the black stripes, creating a fascinating contrast. It has an exceptionally soft touch making it a unique and cozy addition to any space.
MATERIALS
For the weft, finest mohair wool of the local Angora goat was mixed with sheep wool. We estimate a percentage of 50% mohair and 50% sheep wool. The warp is made of cotton.
COLOURS
Natural white and black. All colours are natural.
MEASUREMENTS
80 x 120 cm
CARE INSTRUCTION
This blanket was professionally cleaned. It is machine washable at 30° Celsius. Do not spin. Dry flat.

THE STORY BEHIND
All our Siirt blankets were hand-crafted by Kurdish men in Eastern Turkey, where weaving with goat wool has a history dating back to 6500 BC. Today, only a few places still manufacture Siirt blankets. Most of our stock comes from private households and has already served local families. Every blanket tells its own story, adding and incomparable touch of history and cosmopolitan flair to our home.
